Description Michael Van Meekeren CLA 2004-12-10 17:24:44 EST
Open the workbench (Build id: 200412070800) and close all perspectives.

Pull down the project > properties menu, note it should be disabled

If this is still true for the Properties action, it's probably true for all RetargetableAction cases.

This is fixed in Eclipse Mars.
Comment 4 Rolf Theunissen CLA 2019-01-13 11:36:27 EST
I can still observe this bug on the latest baseline

This bug is probably a regression from bug 53333, which reduced the number of selection changed events. However that code is obsolete by now, see bug 543397.

In the commented out in AbstractSelectionService line 308, the selection was unhooked when a part is closed.
Currently, the selection is kept by the selection service even after the origin-part of the selection is already closed.

Sounds like a regression from bug 53333 for me. I would not expect that selections from closed parts are still leaking memory via selection service.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
