This is the same underlying problem as described in bug 67543. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 67543 *** I'm not sure this is a duplicate 67543, which appears to be more about modal windows in the Help system affecting the workbench. 76135 is about the other way around... modal windows in the workbench not allowing to switch back to the Help system. If this is still a duplicate, please confirm that there is a common underlying problem. It is the same problem, as I explained in https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=67543#c1 Help and Workbench window affect each other in the same way. The Help System is used in the Tutorials Gallery. A number of tutorials in the Tutorials Gallery ("Do and learn" tutorials)require the user to interact with the workbench (resources, editors, views, wizards, etc). This implies that the user needs to switch back and forth between the Tutorials Gallery and the workbench. Unfortunately the help system window frame is dependent on the workbanch window frame. When users interact with modal windows in the workbench (e.g., wizards), they cannot return to the Tutorials Gallery (nor to the Help System nor to the Samples Gallery) while that modal window is open. The Help System (and, consequently, the Galleries) should behave as the independent window frames that they are (independent from the workbench window frame). Users should be able to surface and interact with the Help System (or with the Galleries) while a modal window is opened in the workbench.
