The GLA can currently only read files in the dirrect format which they are 
stored.  If a file is in zipped format it must first be unzipped using a 
convertor and then processed.  For large files this isn;t feasible.  The GLA 
should be able to handle log files which are compressed as a first class file 
format.

Theme: Scaling Up

This feature would allow the GLA to parse very large log files that are 
compressed.


Additional Details of the Requirement

The implementation of this feature will involve creating a new GLA sensor 
component to read compressed files.

IBM Autonomic Computing group requested this be considered for inclusion in 4.2 
but it is not a P1.
