Description Tom Tromey CLA 2004-09-20 15:22:42 EDT
For (many) GNU projects, developers are required to write
ChangeLog entries for every change and to submit a patch
to a mailing list before committing it.

It is conventional to put the ChangeLog entry first in the
patch. It would be nice if Eclipse would do this for me
automatically, so I don't have to edit the patch in my mailer.

For some projects it is also conventional for the ChangeLog
part of the submission not to be a patch at all, but to
be plain text (or in a special post-processed format that
can be turned back into a patch); see

http://gcc.gnu.org/contribute.html#patches

It would be nice if Eclipse could handle this as well.
Comment 1 Jean-Michel Lemieux CLA 2004-09-21 11:43:20 EDT
This could be supported if we allowed contributions to the synchronize view and
then allowed clients to add their own actions.
Comment 2 Michael Valenta CLA 2005-05-31 14:27:11 EDT
There is currently no plan to address this item. The sync view does support
third party contributions so it would be possible for someone to write their
own action that did this.
Comment 3 Eclipse Webmaster CLA 2009-08-30 02:31:48 EDT
As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
