Description
Thomas Arend
This seem like it would be very beneficial for mobile users. Changing component since now the concept of proxy is general to the platform. Do you happen to know if there is a way to react to some OS event? In Eclipse 3.4 we introduced support for native proxy providers. On Windows you can use settings from IE and on Linux proxies defined as environment variables or in GNOME configuration database. Since that feature is already enabled I think it is no longer necessary to provide proxy profiles. The profiles should be handled on the OS level so they can affect all the applications user runs. I know that such tools exist for many OSes. Thus I'd like to close the bug as it is INVALID for me. Tomas, what do you think about it? Or maybe other guys have some thoughts on the subject? Closing the bug as INVALID. |
