Description Tom Tromey CLA 2004-08-04 23:50:13 EDT
I think it would be nice if, in Emacs mode, the key binding C-x b
were to show the editor drop-down. This would be "close enough"
to the standard Emacs binding of switch-to-buffer.

This sounds like a good suggestion. I'm not an Emacs user myself, so any other
suggestions for improvements to the Emacs key binding set would be appreciated.

Heh. I spoke too soon. I don't know if you ever heard us talking about how we
do fun things with override redirect windows, but it causes problems in this
case. If you press "Ctrl+X" and wait for the key assist dialog to open, and
then press "B" ... well, focus goes into a never-never land from which it will
never return.

I've committed this key binding to CVS. It should appear in M2. If you are
using this key ("Ctrl+X B"), please read Bug 72784 for a description of
problems you may encounter.

Verified to work in I200409212000 on GTK+ 2.4.9. However, the problem
discussed in Bug 72784 still exists. As I type, I have a lovely blank override
redirect hovering above my web browser.
