I like the multi-item submenu idea but I would argue that you would only want the following items (to reduce confusion for users that don't know what keyword substitution is). Change Ascii/Binary Property - Auto-Select - Text (-kkv) // or whatever the default is - Binary (-kb) - Custom... The keyword mode wizard has been redesigned in 3.1. If you feel that further simplication is required, please reopen. |
Instead of requiring many clicks / steps to get from (-kb) to (-kv) 1. right-click a file 2. pick Team > Change Ascii/Binary Property 3. pick mode 4. hit next 5. check 'include files that are already in the repository' >>> (can this be set to default to checked?) <<< 6. hit next 7. set commit comment to 'change mode from -kb to -kv' 8. hit next / finish why not add a context-menu item for 'change to -kv', which would bypass all the above and perform the commit with a default comment (like the one above). Could add as submenu under existing 'Change Ascii/Binary Property' item, to allow all 7 choices: > Change Ascii/Binary Property... > > Automatic > > To -kb > > To -ko > > To -kk > > To -kkv > > To -kkvl > > To -kv This would make it much easier to clean up files that were created and added to cvs with the wrong kw sub mode.
