Error messages that appear at the top of preference pages are sometimes 
shortened if the dialog is not wide enough.  The messages should be updated if 
the preferences dialog resizes.

For example: 
1. on the workbench preference page, shorten the preferences dialog so that it 
is not very wide.  

2. enter -1 in "Workspace save interval (in minutes):"  

3. notice that you get an error message at the top of the preference page, and 
it is shortened to something like "The workspace sav...een 1 and 9,999."

4. resize the preferences dialog so that you should be able to see the error 
message.

**5. error message is not updated and is still "The workspace sav...een 1 and 
9,999."
