On windows the IDE window backgrounds (except for ones that are configurable
like the Java editor) follows the system background colour.

On Linux (RH9) this doesn't happen. They all stay white (except, as mentioned
the ones that can be individually configured). I can't use the IDE until this is
fixed or settable in the preferences (eye strein). Some people might agree.

This problem goes for reading help as well. I can't work with a white background.

Thanks, Regards and Cheers ;-)

It appears that many pages are explicitly forcing the body color to white
(which would override any stylesheet preferences). We need to figure out the
correct way to handle this consistently vs. forcing everything white in the
pages. This problem should be handled after GM for 2.0.

Have you veified that this does not occur on Linux? i.e. that its possible to
set all windows to something non-white? If so, may I ask how its done? I've gone
through all the preferences a few times and I've done a few web searches.

Thanks.
