Description Randy Hudson CLA 2004-06-16 16:11:48 EDT
When the user closes a view, the view behind it should become activated, not
some other view in the perspective. This is more frustrating when using the
keyboard to close several stacked views (ALT+MINUS, C).
Comment 1 Nick Edgar CLA 2004-06-16 21:32:41 EDT
It currently activates the next most recently activated part.
Comment 2 Nick Edgar CLA 2004-06-16 21:32:52 EDT
which could be the editor area.
Comment 3 Randy Hudson CLA 2004-06-17 10:09:30 EDT
It's a tough call. Returning to the editor area may be convenient in some
cases like search. But what if I am closing a view to see the one underneath?
I guess the question is do you think that the user is closing a view as a way
to navigate back to the previously active part.

And there's always F12 :-)
Comment 4 Nick Edgar CLA 2004-06-17 10:31:27 EDT
It probably is less disorienting to do as you suggest: activate the next most
recently activated view in the same stack. If there is none, do the same as now.

Reassigning bugs in component areas that are changing ownership.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
