Description Ian Brown CLA 2004-06-09 19:22:44 EDT
In I200406090800, I am finding that Ctrl+Shift+[key] combos (such as
Ctrl+Shift+S and Ctrl+Shift+T) work only intermittently.

I have particularly observed this in Java editors, but then that is all I'm
using them in so I am guessing it is a platform issue, not a JDT one.

/Sometimes/ they will work, but the vast majority of the time they just don't -
there is no discernable pattern. This is a 'new' failure that I have not
observed since version 2.0 days despite heavy usage. Version 3.0 releases up
to, and including RC1 do not seem to exhibit this behaviour.

There is nothing in the .log file

Can you try to reproduce this bug in RC2? Thanks.
Comment 2 Ian Brown CLA 2004-06-14 08:28:03 EDT
I've just had this problem recur in RC2.

Ctrl+Shift+S (save all) does nothing although
Ctrl+Shift+T (open type) is functional

I have made no changes to keybindings.

There is nothing in the .log file

Actually, what I am getting is:

!ENTRY org.eclipse.ui 4 4 Jun 14, 2004 13:45:31.428
!MESSAGE Unable to find Action Set: ProgressExamples.actionSet

Might this make a difference?

I'm guessing that this is a result of a plugin that I was using to assist with
issue 57656 that is no longer present in my environment
Comment 4 Ian Brown CLA 2004-06-14 19:33:48 EDT
I have found this function to be stable unless the jobs plugin given to me in
issue 57656 is in use.

I'm sure I can't blame it on this plugin - I haven't been using RC2 for long
enough to nail it down that closely, but it has been the only difference
between a working system and a non-working (wrt to this issue) system tonight.

As I say, I wouldn't want to write this issue off as just caused by that
plugin unless you find compelling evidence - I'm just giving my observations...

John: please read comment #4, and let me know if you feel that the jobs plug-in
could interfere with events being sent in the correct order, or with widget
focus.

Related to Bug 67590?
Comment 7 Douglas Pollock CLA 2004-11-02 08:55:02 EST
Is this still a problem? I haven't been able to reproduce this, and I haven't
heard of a scenario where some keys work and others don't.
