I just upgraded to Eclipse 3.0RC1 under Linux/GTK and was annoyed to find that
the format command has been moved to "Esc Ctrl+F". When I went into the
preferences to change it back to Shift+Ctrl+F, I saw that that key binding was
already entered. It appeared that both key sequences should work, but when I
tried Shift+Ctrl+F in a Java editing window, Eclipse displayed an underlined
capital 'F', which then disappeared. There was no effect on the editing window.
Removing the "Esc Ctrl+F" entry in Preferences does not allow me to use
Shift+Ctrl+F, even though it apears to be an active binding, according to the
Preferences window.

This problem is introduced by the work to provide key bindings in dialogs.  It 
stems from a feature in GTK+.  Please see Bug 42009 -- particularly comments 
#29 and #40.
