Description Sebastian Davids CLA 2001-11-30 09:44:17 EST
A "Bean Wizard" aka "Bean Info Editor" similar to VAJ's would be
appreciated -- could be placed in the "Refactor" menu (not really a
"refactoring", but one would intuitively search there) and/or the main
toolbar.

The wizard would create all the necessary "plumbing" of creating
bound/constrained bean properties.

Three improvement to VAJ's "Bean Info Editor" would be:

a) the generated variables are formatted with the "Codes Formatter"
preferences (see bug 6466: http://dev.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=6466)
b) the option of selecting the "PropertyChangeSupport" -> either
"java.beans.PropertyChangeSupport" or
"javax.swing.event.SwingPropertyChangeSupport"; or some other class.
c) Option whether the formatter should insert fully qualified names or
import statements -> the wizard could insert import statements by default
unless it encounters a conflicting import, it could resort to inserting a
fully qualified name then.

I believe this is more related to the JDT/UI work area than JDT/Core. However,
if we can help in some way, let me know.
The only related thing I can think of is our set of new JDOM APIs for
manipulating source documents in a structured way.
Refactoring will adopt them as soon as they are ready.

Chaning state from assigned later to resolved later. Assigned later got
introduced by the last bug conversion and is not a supported Eclipse bug state.
Comment 7 Eclipse Webmaster CLA 2009-08-30 02:39:27 EDT
As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
