Description Randy Hudson CLA 2004-05-18 17:04:20 EDT
The Red X overlay icons are not red enough. Also, the X itself is only 3x3
pixels. It used to be twice as large at 5x5 pixels. When looking at a large
list of packages, the user must quickly be able to find out which package(s)
has a class containing an error. This is much harder in 3.0 than in 2.1.

I am red-green colorblind, so having better contrast and a larger X make it 10
times easier to spot.

Comparison

The attachment shows 2.1 and 3.0 decorations. BTW, I like the old package icon
better too.

Although I am not colorblind seeing the two adornments side by side clearly
shows that the error tick was easier discernible in 2.1.

Erich, any news on this?
Comment 4 Randy Hudson CLA 2004-06-17 13:31:02 EDT
As of RC2:
org.eclipse.team.ui is still using the easier-to-see 2.1 icon.
org.eclipse.junit is using a darker version of the new 3.0 icon.

The following plug-ins are using the new faded icon:
org.eclipse.jdt.ui
org.eclipse.update.ui
org.eclipse.ant.ui
org.eclipse.debug.ui
org.eclipse.jdt.debug.ui

No plans to change this.
