Bug 61353

Summary: [RCP] [Dialogs] Dialog store is written each time, even if not used
Product: [Eclipse Project] Platform Reporter: Nick Edgar <n.a.edgar>
Component: UIAssignee: Platform UI Triaged <platform-ui-triaged>
Status: CLOSED WONTFIX QA Contact:
Severity: normal
Priority: P3 Keywords: helpwanted
Version: 3.0
Target Milestone: ---
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows 2000
Whiteboard: stalebug

Description Nick Edgar CLA 2004-05-06 23:50:50 EDT
build I20040506-0200

- run the browser example
- exit
- there's an effectively empty dialog_settings.xml file in the metadata area

It would be nice if no metadata were explicitly written unless needed.

Some RCP apps may not want a workspace folder. This is possible to achieve with
the runtime, as long as no higher layers force it.

See also bug 61351.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
