Description Amy Wu CLA 2004-05-05 11:32:13 EDT
build: 4/23

There does not seem to be a way for a screen reader like JAWS or Window-eyes to
read the error message displayed in org.eclipse.jface.dialogs.InputDialog.

Perhaps the errorMessageLabel should be Read-Only text input so that users can
tab to and read the error message if one exists.
Comment 1 Amy Wu CLA 2004-05-05 11:36:51 EDT
examples where this dialog is used include:
-copy-paste files in package explorer (error message if you try to specify a
new name for the file that already exists)
-Go To Line (Ctrl+L) in text editor (error message if you specify a line out of
range)
Comment 2 Tod Creasey CLA 2004-05-06 09:37:42 EDT
We should use a non editable test as suggested. This is consistent with our
other accessibility solutions in the rest of JFAce.

Fixed in build >20040506
Comment 4 Eric Zimmerman CLA 2004-07-14 19:40:31 EDT
This fix is great if there is any message in the error description but ends up
seeming buggy when the message is empty. This also causes weird focus rings and
display on the Macintosh.
Comment 5 Tod Creasey CLA 2004-07-15 08:27:41 EDT
There is not much we can do about the Mac - this is a design limitation. What
we could really do with at some point is an accessible label.
