Description
Rustam
The viewState tag in workbench.xml is saved properly on close: <viewState columnWidth0="19" columnWidth1="19" columnWidth2="487" ... But as soon as I (re)start Eclipse, it is reverted to: <viewState columnWidth0="19" columnWidth1="19" columnWidth2="227" ... Problems and Tasks column widths are still not remembered in 3.0 M9. In addition, the default widths in the Problems view don't take advantage of the space available (the Description column should be wider). The default widths in the Tasks view look like they are trying to use the available space, but they take up too much room, causing a horizontal scroll bar to appear (maybe because they aren't accounting for the space used by the vertical scroll bar?). Are problems 58276, 57536, and 56863 duplicates, or at least related? The way it works for me in 3.0 is that if I have either of the Tasks or Problems views open and showing when I quit and restart Eclipse, the column sizes are lost in that open view, and set to small widths. Column sizes in the tab not currently frontmost are correctly preserved. So my work-around is to make sure some other tab (such as Console) is frontmost before I quit Eclipse, then when I restart, then activate the Tasks or Problems tabs, the column sizes are intact. However, this is a really annoying defect - especially when I forget to active the Console before I quit, and then have to restore my columns manually. My comment 2 is still valid in 3.1 M6. Can this be put on the radar for the 3.1 release? This problem is getting worse in 3.3. As reported before, it used to be that the Tasks and Problems column sizes were only lost if that view was showing when I restarted. Now, in 3.3M3 (on a Mac), each time I start Eclipse, regardless of which tab is showing, the Tasks and Problems columns get resized to large values, so I have to scroll for miles to see the location at the end. So I have to spend a minute or so resizing all those columns every time I restart. See also bug 128509. Krzysztof could you have a look at this one? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 128509 *** |
