Description Mat Booth CLA 2021-08-27 10:15:46 EDT
Hi,

I am trying to change my employer in my Eclipse.org user account but the process seems broken or otherwise non-functional.

In my account at accounts.eclipse.org I see this banner:

"You have indicated a change in employer. As such any changes you made have not been saved. A notice has been sent to you and EMO legal (emo-records@eclipse.org) so that they can advise what paperwork(if any) needs to be updated."

I received the following automated email from webmaster@eclipse.org on 15/Jul/2021:

Dear Mat Booth,

Because you have changed employers, you must promptly provide the
EMO(emo-records@eclipse.org) with your new employer information.

The EMO will determine what, if any, new legal agreements and/or employer
consent forms are required for your Committer account to remain active.

I replied with relevant details. I have heard *nothing* back. My eclipse.org account still shows my old employer.

This is not the first time I have trouble interacting with the foundation -- see bug 572452 in which I tried to change my email address.... :-/

CC'ing mistria and akurtakov -- Is there something dysfunctional happening at the foundation?

It's *extremely* difficult to communicate with the EMO :-/

Adding Wayne is all I can do here.

Thanks for your patience. We'll get this sorted out for you.

It seems that email is the weak link in this chain. We found Mat's first response to EMO Records in the spam folder. His response today was, however, in the inbox. I've asked the records team to make it their highest priority.

I will get the team to check the spam folder more frequently. I'll also initiate a review of practices to ensure that we're otherwise responding in a timely fashion.

We've now corrected Mat's employment status in accounts.eclipse.org as well as our database, and have reached out to him to update his records by completing and submitting the Eclipse Individual Committer Agreement.

Many thanks Shawn, I just signed the ICA. Please let me know if there is any more information needs.

Thanks Wayne for figuring out what was going wrong
