Hi Shanda, To me the buttons in the jumbotron looks like bullet lists. I think it would be better to make them either buttons or at least underlined so that it looks like something that we can click on. Other then that, I don't know if its intended but there a background colour in the Video section that doesn't seem to take all the space. The images used in the stats and footer sections seems a bit pixelated, just want to make sure this is intended as well. Other than that I think its good. Hi Eric, Thanks for your comments. Absolutely right, those images that you saw is for mockup with low res quality. Please find attached the high res assets for production, and let me know if you need any other assets. Any feedback on the header image? If there is no feedback by May 14, we will go ahead with Option A. (In reply to Shanda Giacomoni from comment #9) > Any feedback on the header image? If there is no feedback by May 14, we will > go ahead with Option A. Hi Shanda, I personally don't have a strong opinion between the 2 options. I think both looks good. One thing to note is that I might have to add some shadow to the menu items as the test is white and the background is sometimes whites at the top. I'll have to figure something out for accessibility. (In reply to Shanda Giacomoni from comment #9) > Any feedback on the header image? Both options show the contents of the screen. In both options, the screens are displaying something that is not the Eclipse IDE. (In reply to Wayne Beaton from comment #13) > Both options show the contents of the screen. In both options, the screens > are displaying something that is not the Eclipse IDE. Not Eclipse IDE
The highlighted bit in the attachment looks like a screen to me. That screen appears to be showing text only. It's less obvious, but the lower right edge of the corner of the monitor that we can see (what looks like a Mac) appears to also just be displaying a bunch of text.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll differ that to the marketing team. If this is something you would like to update, just let me know and i'll change the jumbotron image. Also one thing that I noticed by looking at Wayne's screenshot more closely, we can see that there seems to be 2 images on top of one another. Not sure but I don't think this is something that is intended in the design? New Gerrit change created: https://git.eclipse.org/r/c/www.eclipse.org/eclipseide/+/180729 In the meantime, here is a preview of where i'm at with the 2021-06 page. https://staging.eclipse.org/eclipseide/2021-06/ username: testuser password: plaintext Let me know if there's anything you'd like to change/update. Thanks! Hello, Thank you for your help. It looks good just need some adjustment please: 1- The banner image tend to be a hero banner with 1800 in 900 height px, as you can see it got cut and accordingly found some accessibility issues on the nav section. please refer to the screenshot. 2- If possible, I also requested for using a colour bar instead of buttons with rollover/mouseover functionality. So there will be buttons but looks like a bar at a first glance. Following your feedback last week on links, and bullet points I made these changes and shared an screenshot. So the first fold would be filled with a hero banner and a blue bar. 3- Also please consider consistent margin between sections all over the page. they are not consistent. In case, It seems you have access to XD now so I am sharing the development. link: https://xd.adobe.com/view/c95adbf1-6ee9-4306-82bc-0fc89f800956-9c09/ Also I appreciate Wayne's feedback. Need to add it it has not meant to be IDE within that screen this just create a pattern/background that provide a sense of Developer's working environment. But will include your input and update the banner shortly. Created attachment 286412 [details]

I will post it here when it is finished. Are we still planning on using Font Awesome for the icons in the new features section? (In reply to Jacob Harris from comment #30) > Are we still planning on using Font Awesome for the icons in the new > features section? So far I'm using the icons that was provided by Mehrnaz. Haven't heard a plan to change that? One thing I would like to make sure, is that we have the rights to use the icons that she provided. Created attachment 286434 [details]

I updated the content and icons on staging. https://staging.eclipse.org/eclipseide/2021-06/ Let me know if there's anything else. Thanks! The <New and Noteworthy> button and https://staging.eclipse.org/eclipseide/2021-06/noteworthy/ page still points to 2021-03 content. (In reply to Lakshmi P Shanmugam from comment #36) > The <New and Noteworthy> button and > https://staging.eclipse.org/eclipseide/2021-06/noteworthy/ page still points > to 2021-03 content. Hi, Thanks for pointing this out. I updated this on staging. Staging looks good. On the New and Noteworthy page, can we change the text to "seventy participating projects" ? Thanks (In reply to Jacob Harris from comment #38) > Staging looks good. On the New and Noteworthy page, can we change the text > to "seventy participating projects" ? Thanks I updated the N&N page on staging. https://staging.eclipse.org/eclipseide/2021-06/noteworthy/ Let me know if there's anything else. Thanks. I did a quick update to the banner. I am setting the background-position to `top`. This seems to improve the positioning of the person in the banner since her face would crop depending on the size of the screen. I'm not seeing the Download, Other Packages or Donate buttons at the bottom of the banner. Is this still being working on? @chris The staging site is giving me an error message saying it's unable to load. With this launching next week, I was hoping to give it a final review and sign-off this week. (In reply to Shanda Giacomoni from comment #42) > @chris The staging site is giving me an error message saying it's unable to > load. Hi Shanda, The page is now loading properly. https://staging.eclipse.org/eclipseide/2021-06/ Yesterday we were doing some tests on staging for the ads we want to test on the home and downloads page which broke the eclipseide page because there's a needed change to one of the repos that got overwritten by the tests. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks. Below the subhead there is the date "June 16, 2021". Do we just include this until the release is out? Because it's not in the designs and doesn't have much in terms of context. And bumping the issue below: (In reply to Shanda Giacomoni from comment #41) > I'm not seeing the Download, Other Packages or Donate buttons at the bottom > of the banner. Is this still being working on? The buttons will show up at the time of the release next week and will replace the "June 16, 2021" text. we could update the text if you feel like it needs more context. Thanks for the explanation. No further edits from me. @jacob any final content updates before this goes live? https://staging.eclipse.org/eclipseide/2021-06/ Staging isn't working for me again. But as I recall the content was good to go live. Gerrit change https://git.eclipse.org/r/c/www.eclipse.org/eclipseide/+/180736 was merged to [master]. It looks like we're using the same icon for IMPROVED JAVA DEVELOPMENT TOOLING
and IMPROVED EMBEDDED TERMINAL. I've attached the correct icon for IMPROVED EMBEDDED TERMINAL here

Thanks. There are just a few small things: - THE ECLIPSE IDE DELIVERS WHAT YOU NEED TO RAPIDLY INNOVATE. -> does not need a period - "Learn more" and "Get involved" button headings should be capitalized as "Learn More" and "Get Involved" ; Delete colon (:) from "Learn More" ; Delete period from "A vast ecosystem of plugins from an active community." Thanks! Link to Holger's video (Under "Code Meets Community" section) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhDN0L1_fII I think we can now close this bug since the release was last week. Let me know if there's anything else to be done. Thanks. |
