Description Edouard R. Batot CLA 2021-04-18 09:07:26 EDT
Trying to change my email address.
I type a new one, receive the validation email.

When I click the link I get an error :

-----------------------------------
Error 422 (Unprocessable Entity): invalid token
Endpoint: /r/config/server/email.confirm
-----------------------------------

I have no more information on the matter - I am new to gerrit, never used it before.

You are at this site?

https://git.eclipse.org/r/login/

And you entered this email address?

*you* at iro.umontreal.ca
Comment 2 Edouard R. Batot CLA 2021-04-19 06:17:15 EDT
No, I am not at the /r/login site.
The message says the error pops in /r/config. This is the validation link for a new email address, a redirection from /r/settings.

No, this *umontrea.ca is the actual gerrit contact address I'd like to change.

This is the link I followed the last time I tried:

https://git.eclipse.org/r/#/VE/Wh9x0klTNRbZ2OnyvAZxc7lFWC6mXk8Lq8dtrw==$MjQ2ODk6ZWJhdG90QHVvYy5lZHU=

(from the validation email)

In order to change your email address you'll need to use accounts.eclipse.org .

Gerrit uses our backend authentication system for accounts, but there isn't a way for us to remove these 'options' from the Gerrit web UI so they won't confuse people. The error is because we have done what we can to disable this feature in the Gerrit config, but it only seems to kick in once you try and confirm the change, rather than preventing it entirely.

If I understand well, this is actually a bug then ?!

Thanks for your answer. I now run into the same wall on the Eclipse accounts website. No way to change an existing address - and nowhere to add an optional address.

Kafkaian Eclipse ^^
