Prerequisite for this bug to make it to 4.19 RC2:
- Since the change is in common file, we will need a test-case to verify this bug and make sure nothing else is breaking. Thanks!

Since the change is narrow & is specific to Edge browser support only, approved/merged for 4.19 RC2.
