I don't see an obvious way of invoking the build locally. How do I do that?

Please include build instructions in either the CONTRIBUTING file or a README.

Also, the build information in the project metadata [1] is bogus. Please update that.

Thanks, I've updated the project metadata. 

Regarding building locally the CONTRIBUTING file says
"In order to build you need to trigger `mvn clean install` on `releng/org.eclipse.emf.ecp.releng/pom.xml`."
