Description
Phil Beauvoir
Also happens in plain text editor. I could notice this odd behavior when I type Ctrl + Option + Arrow up/down in the code editor to go to the next/previous method declaration and when I use the expand/restore to select code blocks. It seems to be a delay in rendering the screen, and it's also happening in the Preferences window. All of this started right after updating the system to macOS BigSur. By the way, something pretty messy just have happened after BigSur update, even Sublime is displaying blurred text. Eclipse IDE for Enterprise Java Developers (includes Incubating components) Version: 2020-09 (4.17.0) Build id: 20200910-1200 (In reply to Sergio Eduardo from comment #2) > I could notice this odd behavior when I type Ctrl + Option + Arrow up/down > in the code editor to go to the next/previous method declaration and when I > use the expand/restore to select code blocks. > It seems to be a delay in rendering the screen, and it's also happening in > the Preferences window. > All of this started right after updating the system to macOS BigSur. > > By the way, something pretty messy just have happened after BigSur update, > even Sublime is displaying blurred text. > > Eclipse IDE for Enterprise Java Developers (includes Incubating components) > Version: 2020-09 (4.17.0) > Build id: 20200910-1200 Some Editor refresh issues have been fixed via Bug 567615. I've seen this in the Eclipse IDE, but not able to reproduce it consistently. Does it happen all the time for you? Does restarting the IDE fix the problem? We've been seeing this also.. Phil, have you seen my query bug 565691, comment 10 ? There's also an attachment 284772 [details] although that's more extreme than what I've seen in the IDE. Don't suppose you can repro for a recording perhaps?! @Lakshmi - the text delay happens all the time for me in all text editors in the Eclipse IDE. Restarting does not change things as this is a consistent issue. @Justin - I tested our RCP app for typing text in SWT Text controls, StyledText controls and Draw2d text controls and could not reproduce this, sorry. This is on a 2020 MacBook Air. Created attachment 284866 [details]
Movie file to show typing delay in IDE
Here's a screen recording.
I've just downloaded I20201127-1010 and the fix for Bug 569147 has fixed this issue. Can others who have experienced this issue also confirm, please? Link to the build for testing - https://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/I20201127-1010/download.php?dropFile=eclipse-SDK-I20201127-1010-macosx-cocoa-x86_64.dmg I've just tested Eclipse SDK in the following build, everything seems in order, no sign of the delay bug. Version: 2020-12 (4.18) Build id: I20201125-1800 Looking forward for the final release!
