Process error log

The issue occurred for me on Mac OSX 10.15.7

Download Eclipse for Java developers 4.17

Install Chromium binaries into Eclipse from update site:
http://dl.maketechnology.io/chromium-cef/rls/repository

Add the following line at end of the eclipse.ini:
-Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.DefaultType=chromium

Start Eclipse and open internal web browser

Navigate to the following URL in the internal web browser:
https://www.whatismybrowser.com/

Verify that it is Chrome 59 browser - good.

Keep internal browser view active. Go to top level menu File -> Restart

Fails to restart you get Mac OSX error dialog to send report etc.

Similar things happen if one restarts eclipse with browser view not being active. After Eclipse successfully restarts making the browser view active results in the same error. Also switching workspace is affected. Only works fine on fresh start of Eclipse.

I think this has the same cause as:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=568045

so the process hangs and because of that it can't really restart.

I think you're right about the process hanging... On Linux this is exactly what I'm seeing... Mac probably is a bit smarter about it.

Any chance to get these fixes into the 2021-03 release?

Chromium has been removed via bug 572010 .
