I'm testing on Mac OS X.3.3 using Eclipse 3.0M8, and I'm checking out 'platform-swt' over a relatively 
slow (wireless/slow net) link.

The 'progress bar' is updating how far it's gone through the process, but every time it updates, the 
progress bar flashes. Sometimes, it's clear it's doing a redraw but not actually changing the title (e.g. 
4%...4%...4%...5%...5% etc).

It looks like the progress bar update is always doing a 'fill background colour' which is visible before 
the message gets displayed. Is there anything that can be done so that the SWT component doesn't do 
a full refresh before the text gets written?

Marking this against CVS initially (because that's where I saw it), but expect that it will be reassigned to 
SWT or more suitable component as appropriate.

I don't see the flashing on Windows XP? In any case, it's not our widget.

I just tested this on:
Mac OS 10.3.3
Eclipse Platform
Version: 3.0.0
Build id: 200405030010

I checked out platform-swt. The progress bar at the bottom right flickers
constantly, even though the message stays unchanged.

There are currently no plans to work on this although we would be happy to review patches.

Am not seeing any flash right now. Probably gone during some other fixes. Marking as invalid for now
