Featured Committer Mockup

We'd like to add a "Featured Committer" section on the home page, next to the "Featured Project". I've attached a mockup.

This would change each month and the "Read more" button would hyperlink to the featured committer section that we're now including in our monthly newsletters.

I am not sure about the wording for: "Committer to".

Could we simplify by saying "Projects"?
Comment 2 Denis Roy CLA 2020-08-21 08:59:06 EDT
I somehow find that the Featured Committer and Featured Project get lost in the 2-column format of the announcements.

+1 I could add a keyline <hr> to separate them.

The "Committer to" language is consistent with what is used in the newsletter. I will let Karen and Thabang weigh in on this before I change the mockup.

+1 horizontal line / other visual element to break up announcements & news from featured committer & project

Hi @Chris, "Committer to" is grammatically correct e.g. "committer to the Eclipse Theia project" and using "Projects:" would be repetitive.

Thanks for the clarification Thabang!

In regards to a timeline, I am planing to assign this request to our new hire. I am hoping that this is something that we can work on later in September.

Does this sound like a plan?
