John-Mason can you provide a link to the list email..the archive is always a day behind. Any reference to a bug number? But this is good news...we can remove code and an extension point. This will happen early in M9. I read through the ui editors schema file and it looks like what we need. I have marked our Ant UI extension point as going away ASAP. Created attachment 8960 [details] move to generic template support Borrows heavily from org.eclipse.ui.examples.javaeditor. Note that this patch does not change the behavior associated with bug 55357. I have applied your patch and released. Thanks. We did not update the build.properties file to handle the new templates folder for I20040330. The code handles that the ant.xml file is missing :-) doh. Have you fixed this or shall I? Fixed and released. I am going to mark this one as fixed and we can deal with the remaining issues in the existing bug reports or in new ones that we find. And verified. |
From an email on the eclipse-platform-text list (Tom Eicher, 3/19/2004): > The most prominent new feature is that templates, context types, and > variable resolvers can be contributed via XML now (see the templates > extension point in org.eclipse.ui.editors). I will add a very basic XML > editor example based on the PDE "plug-in with an editor" example project > to the example java editor project today.
