Description B McCarthy CLA 2019-09-02 13:40:40 EDT
Hello,

Content-assist doesn't work, whether I request from keyboard (e.g. ^space) or type a '.' following an object or class. Just did a clean reinstall and it still doesn't work, default or emacs bindings. Oddly before the reinstall I at least got a popup dialog (but always with no suggestions), and after reinstall not even getting the popup.

Tried restoring defaults in Java>Editor>Content Assist but that didn't help.

Version: 2019-06 (4.12.0)
Build id: 20190614-1200

Side note, tried on 4.13 RC1 and it was working better, I got the popup and suggestions -- but did not recognize for example that Future was a class that could be imported so I gave up on that.

Just verified that it works on 4.11, so changing priority to normal

Please try with the freshly downloaded latest I-build and provide a sample code snippet to reproduce the issue if you still see the problem.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

Closing this as the release reported on is quite old. Content assist does work in latest release - I use it every day. If there is a particular scenario that is not working, please open a new issue in github (bugzilla no longer used) and we can triage it.
