Description Jonah Graham CLA 2019-07-03 14:18:49 EDT
Hello webmaster,

CDT is about to outgrow its scheme for sortkeys in Bugzilla milestones.

Can you change all the existing sortkeys for milestones to make space at the top?

I don't care about the actual values for the milestones < 9.8.0, just that their order is preserved.

For 9.8.0 and above can we use these sortkeys?

9.8.0 --> 9080
9.8.1 --> 9081
9.8.2 --> 9082
9.9.0 --> 9090

This will give us space to add 9.10.0 as sortkey 9100 and 9.10.1 as 9101 when they come online.

Thanks!
Jonah

The maximum sortkey value is 32767, so I don't think we need to re-order all these milestones just yet.

You'll be all set until CDT version 32 release 7, which is at least a year or two away ;)

I suppose I can come up with a new numbering scheme, but our current one runs out this year as our next release is 9.10.

OK I will use this as my scheme which will work for at least the next few years.

9.10.0 -> 19000
9.10.1 -> 19010
9.10.2 -> 19020
9.11.0 -> 19100
9.11.1 -> 19110
9.11.2 -> 19120
10.0.0 -> 20000
10.0.1 -> 20010
10.1.0 -> 20100
10.1.1 -> 20110

However, before I can add 9.10.0 can you move the Future and Next out of the way

Next -> 32750
Future -> 32760

Thank you! I am glad we found a solution that works for everyone :-)
