The Structured Editor is not part of the platform. There's a 'Hovers' preference page for the Java editor. Please open a bug for that one. IIRC the original reason was to make it readable by screen readers. Maybe there's a cleaner way to do it now. Yes, this needs to be considered when changing this, see my comment in bug 548045 comment 3. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 548240 *** |
Created attachment 278877 [details] Description text is highlighted to show that it is selectable/cursor will flash in that textbox Where it occurs: Window -> Preferences -> General -> Structured Text Editors -> Hovers. The typing cursor flashes in the "Description" text box and the user can select the description text. Ideally, the typing cursor should not flash in this textbox since it is not editable. This can cause confusion as the user can edit the text in the "Pressed key modifier while hovering" textbox but not in "Description" textbox. As a result, there is no easy way for the user to realize that they can edit the "Pressed key modifier while hovering" without trying to change its value/text.
