I registered myself to jetty-users@eclipse.org a long time ago. I
always got messages from this list. Now I have problem I want to
discuss but I'm not able to write to this list.

I alwas get:

You must subscribe to this list before posting.  Please go
to https://dev.eclipse.org/mailman/listinfo to subscribe
to the list, then try again.  Perhaps you are already
subscribed using another email address; if that is the
case, please send email to this list using the email
address you've used to subscribe.

I even changed my email address at eclipse.org to the newer and
shorter "...@gmail.com" version and resubscribed. I got the message
that I'm now registered but I can not post.

I don't see an account or a list subscription for your @gmail.com address, so that would certainly cause problems.

I then went back through the logs and it looks like the message you tried to post was from the @gmail address rather than the @googlemail address which is actually subscribed.

Sorry for the confusion. I thougt I changed my email address to ...gmai.com but in fact didn't.

Now really changed to ...gmail.com an reregistered.

Everything works fine.
