Bug 468206 is the same issue (approx) for CDT. CDT tries to follow JDT in areas like this. So, when trying to fix in CDT I looked at how JDT is done, but unfortunately JDT does not resolve the highlight issue either. If we can solve this in one of the places, we should be able to solve it in both the same way. Is this a regression in 4.12?
