Description Harald Mackamul CLA 2018-11-28 09:53:17 EST
On page https://projects.eclipse.org/content/lothar-wendehals-committer-app4mc I (as a project lead) tried to retire the committer.

Result was:

Something went wrong while trying to retire Lothar Wendehals from the project technology.app4mc. Please try again. PR-01 [404]

Hi Harald,

I see that Lothar has been retired successfully from the project.

Did you try to retire that person a second time and it worked?
Comment 2 Harald Mackamul CLA 2018-11-30 03:26:38 EST
Hi Eric,

No, I did not try to do it a second time.

After your response I started the action for another committer
(for now this is the last one to retire)

The result seems to be the same as before:

 1. I got the feedback that something went wrong
 2. After reload of the project page: the person is shown under "Historical Committers"

So in the end the action seems to be successful.

My remaining concern: Is the change propagated correctly to all systems e.g. git, gerrit, ... ?

Hi Harald,

I will verify with webmaster that they are retired everywhere.

Also, this message shouldn't be there and is showing us that there is a bug.

I will get back to you once I know more and also to let you know that both persons have been retired properly.

Hi Harald,

I merged a patch this morning on the production website to fix this issue.

Next time you retire a user, you should not see the error message anymore. Also I asked webmaster to make sure both users you mentioned were properly retired.

Please reopen this bug if you have other issues retiring users.

Thanks.
