Description Ansgar Radermacher CLA 2018-09-10 08:22:15 EDT
When the user opens an integrated xtext editor, the editor starts-up in the background. The time before the editor becomes usable can be quite long, e.g. 5-6 seconds.
Unlike one might expect, the time does not depend on the number of resources in the resource set of the current editor, but on the size of the current Eclipse workspace.
I've done a test with an workspace containing only one project and the startup time is less than one second.

While editor activation still takes about a second, I can't reproduce long activation times (>5 seconds) any more. Either, the problem has gone away (I've updated to the latest nightly in the meantime) or the activation becomes slow after certain actions.
I don't want to close the bug right now, but it could well be invalid.
