Description
Benjamin Cabé
I've scheduled a termination review for July 18/2018. Hi guys, I may be too late to the discussion, but I would be keen to take over the Ponteproject in a 3-4 months (once the HIP IC and v1.0 of the specification are in place) I think Ponte has a lot of value in terms of interoperability across messaging protocols and could augment HIP in terms of standardized messaging (plus - I'm biased towards it as a JS project) It's no problem if I'm too late, or you can't wait until Q4 for the project to be taken over - I've been staring at this ticket for about 20 minutes wondering if I should say anything! Cheers Mark I'll leave it to the PMC's discretion. Be advised that, AFAIK, there are some IP issues that need to be addressed (e.g. there are some dependencies that need to be presented to the IP Team for review). Hi Mark, You are not too late, and that is exactly why we have those termination reviews, sending a last call to the community. That being said, Wayne is right that there are pending IP issues that would need to be addressed ASAP - any chance you would be able to work on this? Hi Benjamin, I'm aware of some of the IP issues - I had tried to piggyback on some of the Ponte dependencies for HIP. Good news is that the IP issues for some of the dependencies (e.g. Mosca) are now resolved through HIP. There are a number of others (e.g. Coap) which aren't used by HIP, but I can create a CQ for those over the next few days. I might email Sharon from the IP team and try and agree the best way to get the remaining dependencies (for both HIP and Ponte) submitted. I'll pull together a master list of dependencies for both projects and I can update this issue with the current status (in terms of submitted and outstanding CQs) Cheers Mark Hi folks, just a quick update on the dependencies for Ponte - some good news! Ponte has a total of 235 direct and indirect dependencies. HIP has a total of 416 dependencies (sorry Sharon!) Of the above, 215 are common to projects - leaving 20 dependencies unique to Ponte. Of the 215 common dependencies, 212 have been checked as part of 2 CQs for HIP [1],[2] and the remaining 3 common dependencies are part of an upcoming CQ for HIP There are 198 dependencies remaining in HIP and I've split these into 2 CQs (not submitted yet) - I can add the 20 remaining dependencies for Ponte in here and get these submitted sometime next week? Sharon, I have a spreadsheet of all the dependencies for both projects - I can add additional info in here (licence type, link to repos etc.) and include with the CQ if that helps? Dependency for HIP and Ponte projects
A list of the dependencies across the Eclipse projects HIP and Ponte included dependencies common to both and those which have been submitted for IP review as part of the HIP IC
I am declaring the termination review failed. Please continue to work with the IP team to resolve any outstanding IP issues. (In reply to Cydnie Smith from comment #8) > I am declaring the termination review failed. > > Please continue to work with the IP team to resolve any outstanding IP > issues. Greetings Mark, It looks like you have worked with the IP team and the 2 recent CQs submitted (05-19) have been resolved. What are your plans with regards to this project now? Do you have any plans to release? Thanks, Greetings, It doesn't look like there has been any activity on this project. What is your opinion on restarting the termination process? As a result of no activity, I am reopening this bug, and scheduling a termination review for March 17th 2021. We'll use this bug to track the termination review and archival. I have cited lack of development activity as the reason for the termination. Project leads and committers can add more to the review documentation if desired. I have tentatively scheduled the termination review for March 17th 2021. Following termination, we'll need to shutdown/archive: * Website * Git repositories * Mailing list * Forum * Bugzilla product * Retire committers, project leads, and mentors Your comments, feedback, and pushback are welcome. The termination review has been concluded successfully. I have retired the committers and project lead(s). I have marked the project as archived in the PMI. Webmaster, please archive this project's resources. The termination review has been concluded successfully. I have retired the committers and project lead(s).
