I have a laptop with an english keyboard. Being in France, my machine has an additional French keyboard layouts installed. The problem: Eclipse uses the currently active keyboard layout for normal text in the Java or C++ editor, but for shortcuts, it uses the French keyboard layout regardless of the currently selected layout. For instance, I have to press control-Q in order to select all. The Preferences->General->Keys correspond to the default, the keys corresponding to the French layout show up, if I type something in the "binding field".

Not sure, if this is an Eclipse, Java or even KDE/Ubuntu issue. However, the problem is reproducible with oxygen and photon installations, but not with neon (all on the same machine).
