I have not been abled to reproduce manually, only with an SWTBot test but deleting an element triggers a selection change that leads to an NPE.

The test is in ODTE, no need of validation for this bugzilla. Ask Steve if you want the test.

Validated as technical issue.

The NPE is corrected in the reproduction environment.
