Description Niklas Lahnstein CLA 2017-10-05 13:41:29 EDT
While editing my source files, at one point after i installed updates and trying to type '()' i noticed some strange behaviour around this:
Whenever i press shift and 8, which should result in '(', nothing happens. If i keep shift pressed and press any other key afterwards, this one also doesn't do anything. Only the third one and any other key presses after that have an effect, but i cannot get shift + 8 to work. I will list some examples now:
Keeping Shift pressed while also typing 890 results in '=' getting added to the source file
Keeping Shift pressed and typing 098 results in '=)'
Keeping Shift pressed and typing l8ds results in 'LS'

Can you reproduce it in a non-java file in Eclipse e.g. a text file (File > New > Untitled Text File)?

It may be caused by one of the installed plug-ins in your update. Go to Help > About Eclipse SDK > Installation Details and uninstall anything that is related to Eclipse Tests.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
