Description Gary Gregory CLA 2004-02-18 13:41:31 EST
When you Alt-right-click in a text file or Java file, the event is not passed to
the OS. Instead the context menu flashes. This causes tools like www.gurunet.com
not to work from eclipse.
Version 3.0.m7.
Comment 1 Dani Megert CLA 2004-02-18 13:48:28 EST
Whe I Alt+right+click in a Win XP Explorer or any other WinXP app exactly the
same happens i.e. context menu shortly appears and then goes away.

Please reopen and attach WinXP spec that describes other behavior.
Comment 2 Gary Gregory CLA 2004-02-18 14:26:05 EST
If you do not have an application that has an OS hook for that event, then you
will obviously not be able to reproduce the problem. Here is a step by step on
Win XP:

- Download GuruNet from http://ftp.atomica.com/pub/exes/GNInstallerFree.exe
- Run GNInstallerFree.exe
- Set which key combo activate GuruNet:
- Double-click on the GN icon in the icon tray.
- Choose Tools/GuruNet Option...
- Select the Activate Tab.
- Select a key combo, for example: Alt-Left-Click.
- Click OK on all the dialogs.

- Start Notepad, type in "bug", place your mouse pointer over the word,
Alt-Left-Click (or whetver key combo you set in GN).
- The GuruNet window opens on the definition for that word.

- Doing the same thing in Eclipse does not work.

Moving to SWT for commenting about the event not being passed.

Adrian, can you verify that it's fine for us to download this? The homepage is
http://www.gurunet.com/ . Thanks.

Moving report to triage, see http://www.eclipse.org/swt/triage.php
for more info about swt bug triaging.
Comment 7 Leo Ufimtsev CLA 2017-08-03 12:32:32 EDT
This is a one-off bulk update. (The last one in the triage migration).

Moving bugs from swt-triaged@eclipse to platform-swt-inbox@eclipse.org and adding "triaged" keyword as per new triage process:
https://wiki.eclipse.org/SWT/Devel/Triage

See Bug 518478 for details.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
