Whiteboard:

Description Michael Rennie CLA 2017-09-05 14:20:31 EDT
In some cases, some of the UX elements in Orion are unecessary (for example running Orion in kubernetes).

Google cloud shell has such a reduced UI that they accomplish via the

https://wiki.eclipse.org/Orion/Documentation/Developer_Guide/Core_client_services#orion.core.container.themes.provider

extension API.

It would be good to have a theme similar to this in Orion, perhaps behind a special preference (checkbox, etc) so the end user knows that such a theme will change the Orion UX not just the colours / fonts.

As discussed ad nauseam, I would prefer that "theme" be "just theme" (look and feel). If menu items are removed or added, this should be done using a flag in a config file.

Ok, we had a call with Casey to understand what is going on with the feature. Silenio and Mike R will scope it and outline the what we think needs to be done, where the changes are etc. Based on that and Casey's availability, we'll decide next steps.

SSQ/Mike?

Yeah, thats a good path forward. Then we can decide who wants to do what and how.

Seems like this is done now. Close it?
