Description Wayne Beaton CLA 2017-08-17 17:18:56 EDT
Our website and documentation contains multiple references to the "Eclipse Public License" or "EPL". With the recent approval of the EPL-2.0, many of those references are now ambiguous. I suspect that we probably do sometimes mean "Eclipse Public License" without qualification, or can reasonably assume in many cases that the unqualified term implies the most recent version.

I expect that we'll want to update most references to "2.0" with some small number remaining as "1.0". The first step is to take some inventory and come up with a strategy for updating those references.

Random thought: is it worth defining a variable for the most recent version of the license that we can use in an attempt to future-safe us from further updates?

I'm assigning this to "Website" for now; we'll have to work with the webdev team to sort out who'll do the various parts of the work.

One obvious reference that we need to clean up is on the /legal page.

https://www.eclipse.org/legal/

The existing links to EPL-1.0 are valid, but should be relabelled to include the version. The associated text should probably also be tweaked.

I'm pretty sure that I've found and fixed all of them. Or at least all of them in the /legal, /org, and /projects directories that make sense. Let's open bugs and/or just fix stragglers as we find them.
