Not really sure we can do it 1) in a portable way, and 2) without losing some other existing behavior. But it's worth looking at.

With Sirius 5.0.1, double click on aird file in Model Explorer view still open the aird editor instead of expanding item

Note that it works in Package Explorer but not in Project Explorer
