How to replicate the bug

The attached gif shows the replication steps, a left mouse click is marked with a red circle.

The replication steps are:
 1. Change to orthogonal routing for a connection
 2. Click/Click-drag on and besides the connection and drag handles like crazy until the drag handles remain but the connection is not selected.

Result: The Logo ui example is rendered unusable. Cannot move, resize, delete or create parts.

Tested with the GEF integration release 5.0.0.201612310303.

I cannot reproduce this issue any more since fixing of bug 509941. If you can verify that the issue is not reproducible, I will resolve this bug as fixed, too.
