Description Matthias Sohn CLA 2016-12-01 17:21:27 EST
I experience very slow response times (20-30sec) when posting replies to questions in the EGit forum.

I suspect the root cause might be related to Bug 501251 - and it's a real hindrance for using the forums.
Comment 2 Denis Roy CLA 2016-12-02 09:01:23 EST
I've been seeing this. I'll have to trace the SQL queries to see what's taking so long.

At least in the case of approving moderated messages, I've discovered that the action of approval actually finishes quickly, it's the refreshing of the moderation page that takes the time. I can actually click "Approve" multiple times on the moderation page without waiting for it to reload and they all succeed; force reload of the page comes back quickly with the approved messages gone.
So it seems that the issue may not be a SQL bottleneck; or maybe it is :-/. Hopefully this helps to narrow it down.

Hi Webmaster/Denis, this still appears to be affecting all the forums. Is there anything we can do to help on this?
Comment 8 Eclipse Genie CLA 2019-01-30 03:55:26 EST
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

It's been working OK for a while, I think.
