Description Sven Köhler CLA 2016-11-13 16:07:36 EST
Yesterday, I have downloaded Eclipse Neon 1a for C/C++, Linux 64bit. After the first start on Ubuntu 16.10 yakkety with a clean workspace, the toolbars were misaligned. The run buttons were on the right - even right of the button to switch the perspective. An attempt to drag the toolbars around resulted in a crash of Eclipse.

Using --launcher.GTK_version 2 resulted in a usable Eclipse and the toolbars were all in the proper position and can be dragged around. Thus I conclude that SWT has problems with GTK 3.20 (the version used on yakkety).

In fact, I find myself forcing Eclipse to use GTK+ 2.x way too often. SWT for GTK+ 3.x doesn't seem to be ready.

Do you still see this on Ubuntu 18.04 with GTK3.22 on 4.8?

No response in two weeks, closing this ticket. Please re-open with details to reproduce on 4.8 and GTK3.22 if the issue reoccurs.
