Description Philippe Ombredanne CLA 2016-10-14 08:55:32 EDT
On Version: Neon (4.6) Build id: I20160606-1100
On Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop, 64 bits

When I am in an editor with selected text lines and press Ctrl+F to replace, I then enter the find and replace text.

If I type Alt-A as a shortcut to the "replace all" button, the scope is changed to "all" as soon as I type Alt and the selected lines are not honored and deselected: instead the text is replaced in the whole document.

This looks like a recent behaviour. It was not this way in the past. For instance I checked an old Eclipse 3.4 and this bug is not there.
The bug is not present either in Version: Kepler Service Release 2 Build id: 20140224-0627

The other possibility would be a side effect of https://github.com/eclipse/eclipse.platform.text/commit/64b34b614087b96e6cc92c72143768b98ae32602

Or something deeper in SWT.

Works fine for me on Windows 7.
Comment 4 Philippe Ombredanne CLA 2016-10-14 10:55:42 EDT
Danny: this is clearly a Linux-only issue. I should have said that I checked on Windows before.

I can't reproduce this one with 4.8. Is it still an issue for you?

No response in months, closing this bug now. Please reopen it if the issue is reproducible on 4.10 and a supported GTK3 version.
