Right now it is a relatively painful process to import existing projects into an
Eclipse workspace, when this has to be done for more than one or two projects.

It would be much simpler/faster for users if they could select one or more
.project files in their filesystem navigator (Windows Explorer on Windows, and
equivalents on other platforms), and drag and drop them into the Package
Explorer, which would prompt the user if they wanted to import that/those
project(s).

Looks like this may involve PDE too.
Comment 2 Tod Creasey CLA 2004-02-11 18:18:51 EST
This would only work for one type of project import (existing project). I
suspect this would be pretty challenging to get right.
Comment 3 Colin Sampaleanu CLA 2004-02-11 18:28:58 EST
Yes, but it would be a big timesaver for importing existing projects after
creating a new workspace, especially if you could select multiple .project files
at a time and drag them in...

There are currently no plans to work on this feature
