This is very much related to Bug 472388 (which reports this problem for windows), with the big difference that under Linux the workaround in Bug 472388 comment 6 does *not* work.

The minimal example project [1] for Bug 472388 demonstrates this problem.

FWIW, I just checked this under Oxygen (Build id: I20160726-1400) with the Eclipse SDK; this bug is still present.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.
