Thanks for reporting. I agree we have to improve the readability in Dark Theme. The main actionable is the unreadability of black text on black. For this, I marked this bug a duplicate of 496585 Note: Hi-DPI is not related to Dark theme only, and this problem is already tracked via other bugs. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 496585 *** This is not a duplicate of bug 496585 as bug 496585 only convers one issue of the dark theme. As you can see in the attached screenshot, there are many other components that are not readable/visible, e.g. the scrollbars. I agree, I created the Bug 497562 as umbrella bug for all the Dark Theme issues in Eclipse Neon. This bug is quite general about [Dark], so it is duplicate of the Umbrella one. Scrollbars are considered in one of its sub-items: Bug 497310. Created attachment 262925 [details] Dark Theme IDE screenshot Eclipse 4.6 I found some "dark theme" bugs but all just report some specific GUI component. I was very happy to read about a "good"/"improved" dark theme in Eclipse 4.6 (Neon). So I switched Preferences > Appearance > Theme to "Dark" and ... it looked partly good but in almost all of my standard views several things are just invisible or black on almost black background, etc. See attached screenshot. I wonder how any of the developers have tested this! Many views like e.g. Outline, Members, Ant display text in black behind the items. The Java source editor's scrollbar is dark brown on dark brown, etc. BTW: the icons are very tiny on this UHD resoltution - even though a Neon feature is said to scale the icons fine.
