According to the documentation, it should be possible to set the status of bug 490467 to "CONFIRMED" which is not the case for me. Can you please check?

I've confirmed that you have all the expected permissions.

Since our bugzilla install pre-dates the 'Confirmed' status(introduced with 4.0) you should use 'New'(bugzilla upgrades won't change existing deployments).
